Sudan rejects UK resolution proposal for establishing a fact-finding committee

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced its rejection of a British resolution proposal calling for the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate the current crisis in Sudan

The Sudan News Agency quoted a statement from the ministry, stating that Sudan strongly rejects the resolution project presented by Britain to the Human Rights Council as it lacks objectivity and fairness by equating the Sudanese armed forces with rebel militias.

The statement emphasized that the resolution demands the formation of a fact-finding committee at a time when Sudan is facing a war that threatens its unity, independence, security, and stability.

The statement also pointed out that the collective rejection of the resolution is coming from various geographical and political groups within Sudan. Despite this, Britain proceeded to submit the resolution proposal to the Human Rights Council.
