Sudanese army denies reports on the capture of Ethiopian soldiers

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) spokesperson denied some widespread reports about the movements of the Sudanese army and their families of Ethiopian soldiers.

According to the official spokesman of the armed forces in the Sudan, news circulated on Tuesday on some satellite channels and websites, attributed to the Sudanese army and military sources, of troop movements and the capture of Ethiopian soldiers in the area of Fashqa.

The source said that the reports were “untrue and misleading”.

The Sudanese Armed Forces assert that they have not issued any statements or statements to these or other websites on any matter related to the situation on the Sudan’s eastern border.

The Office also noted that it was the only authorized source of SAF news and that the publication of any content to any other source was the responsibility and legal liability of the issuer.

On Monday, the head of Sudan’s sovereign council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, traveled to the Fashqa region bordering Ethiopia, which Khartoum accuses of executing seven Sudanese soldiers and a civilian.

A Sudanese military source said: “The president of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has been in Fashqa this morning on the border with Ethiopia”.

On Sunday night, the Sudanese army announced that the Ethiopian army had executed seven Sudanese soldiers and a civilian who had been held captive for months.
