Sudanese army targets Nasim hospital in Oumdurman region with drone attack
The Sudanese army targeted the Nasim Hospital in the Tadam Darman area through a drone airstrike. The Sudanese army launched a drone attack on a hospital in Omdurman, resulting in the death of 5 people and the injury of 22 others.
The Support Forces stated in a release: “Continuing its approach to violating international humanitarian law and all rules of war, the army targeted the Emergency and Injuries Complex at the Military Hospital in Omdurman with a drone today.” It clarified that the attack resulted in the death of 5 patients and the injury of 22, most of whom were civilians.
The statement added that “the Emergency Department of the Military Hospital receives all emergency cases for all segments of the population, both civilians and military alike, and has been providing this service since its establishment.”
The statement came to confirm the announcement of the Ministry of Health about the attack, which confirmed that the injuries of the victims are “serious and require urgent intervention for surgical procedures.”
The ministry had stated that the army “targeted the Military Hospital in Omdurman, specifically the Emergency Department,” noting that the attack resulted in the death of 4 civilians in front of the emergency department and the injury of 4 others.
The attack occurred amid the fighting that erupted in mid-April between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.
The UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, confirmed that the conflict in Sudan has forced more than 3 million people to flee inside and outside the country since the conflict began in mid-April last year.
