Sudanese-Qatari Talks to strengthen Bilateral Ties
Qatari secretary of state Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani handed a written letter from Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to go of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on reinforcing bilateral ties.
The visiting secretary of state also held meetings with Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council Mohamed Hamdan Daqlu, Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, and secretary of state Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi.
Mahdi said the talks touched on peace in Darfur and therefore the Juba Agreement, affirming Qatar’s support for of these efforts, and its continued work with the Sudanese government to realize all peace requirements.
The two sides also discussed regional issues, including the recent tension between Sudan and Ethiopia, also because the situation in Libya and Chad.
