Taliban mine explodes in Harry’s face: The secret of the journalists’ battle

Prince Harry hit a new “wall” when he attacked the press after “damaging” reactions to his memoir Spare.

Although Harry’s memoirs have been selling record time, he expressed his dismay at what he called the “lie” of boasting about killing 25 Taliban members.

The Duke of Sussex told the story of his time in the Royal British Army commanding a military helicopter.

One of the lines of his memoirs, Charles’ youngest son, and the late Princess Diana, recalled what happened during his two terms in Afghanistan.

The first period of Harry’s military service as an air controller was in 2008/07, and the second in 2012, when he was a co-pilot of Apache attack helicopters.

The English press, heavily criticized by Harry in his memoirs, and former British military personnel attacked his decision to announce the number of those he had killed.

Journalists concerned with the royal affairs warned that the 30th Emir’s boasting about killing Taliban members could expose him and others to the risk of reprisals.

Speaking to American interviewer Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show,” he said that the press has taken his revelations out of context.

“Indisputably, the most serious lie they have said is that I have boasted one way or another of how many people I have killed in Afghanistan.”

On Tuesday, the publisher of Harry’s memoirs said he had become the fastest-selling non-fiction book in Britain ever.

For days now, the British press has been dominated by what Harry revealed in his memoirs about his life and other members of the royal family, accusing them of “collaborating with the devil.”

The Duke of Sussex refers here to the yellow press, as he describes it, to improve their reputation at the expense of his and his wife, Megan Markle.

Spare’s English edition sold more than 1.43 million copies of all formats and releases in the United States, Canada and Britain on the first day of publication.

“I will not lie that the past few days have been painful and difficult,” said Prince Harry.
