The Brotherhood Strengthens Its Relationship with the Houthis… What’s New?

Amid the cooperation between the terrorist Houthi militia and the Al-Islah Party, a Houthi-affiliated court in the occupied capital of Sana’a yesterday approved the lifting of the precautionary seizure on the properties and homes of 105 leaders and members of the party, which represents the Muslim Brotherhood politically and militarily in Yemen.

According to Yemeni lawyer and human rights activist Abdul Basit Ghazi, a member of the Arab Lawyers Union and head of the defense committee for detainees and the disappeared, the Specialized Criminal Court in Sana’a yesterday approved the lifting of the precautionary seizure on the properties of more than 100 leaders and members of the Al-Islah Party, including former ministers, teachers, and academics.

Ghazi confirmed that the majority of them are workers in the charitable sector, whom the group had previously described as fugitives from justice.

He explained that those who attended the session with their personal identification cards, and whose attendance was recorded in the session minutes and verified by the judge, were mostly academics and educators who were part of the Social Reform Association.

Ghazi attached a 16-page ruling report to his post, which included 105 names of leaders and workers affiliated with the Yemeni Islah Party who were included in the lifting of the seizure on their properties.

The Al-Islah Party, the “Muslim Brotherhood‘s arm in Yemen,” has strengthened its rapprochement with the terrorist Houthi group with a new agreement in Taiz.

According to Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni website, the party struck a new prisoner exchange deal with the Iranian-backed militia last week through local mediation.

The deal included the release of seven prisoners from each side, confirming the shared interests and the relationship of cooperation and mutual benefit between these parties, which tend toward violence and extremism.
