The Houthi Militias Form a New Government… Will the Muslim Brotherhood Be Included?
The terrorist Houthi militias yesterday tasked Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi with forming a new (unrecognized) government, replacing the former Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor.
The Yemeni News Agency (SABA) reported that the head of the “Supreme Political Council,” Mahdi Al-Mashat, issued a decision appointing Ahmed Saleh Al-Rahwi to form a “change and construction” government.
Al-Mashat had earlier issued a decision appointing the former Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor as a member of the “Supreme Political Council.” It is expected that the “radical change” announced by the leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, several months ago, will include the organizational structures of all ministries and reduce the number of ministries to less than half. Observers speculate that the Muslim Brotherhood may participate in this new government.
Additionally, sources said that the Houthi leader has provided the newly appointed prime minister with guidelines that include criteria for selecting government members. These criteria involve reducing the representation of the “Hashemite” faction of Sanaa and promoting loyal leaders chosen through consultation between the appointed prime minister and the head of the presidential office, who is close to the Houthi leader.
