The Sudanese people refuse the intervention of the Brothers in the country

Sudanese people woke up early Monday to the fast political events that included the arrest of most members of the Sovereign Council and senior government officials. The Sudanese army launched a campaign of arrests in the ranks of the Transitional Council and the government, which included Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, Minister of Industry Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Media Minister Hamza Belloul, and others.

The military also decided to suspend some provisions of the constitutional document, dissolve transitional councils, and form a new government”.

These moves have provoked internal and external reactions, with civilians in power denouncing the “coup d’état” and calling for protests and civil disobedience.

In a statement issued Monday, the Sudan Declaration of Freedom and Change called for a comprehensive civil disobedience in response to the measures taken by the army, the arrest of Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, a number of ministers and officials, the dissolution of the Council of Sovereignty and Ministers, and the imposition of a state of emergency in the country.

Already, Sudanese have taken to the streets to denounce the coup and the actions of the military, while rejecting Muslim Brotherhood interference in the country. Social media has also been hugely interactive, with Twitter expressing their views and disapproval of the events.

Shaimaa Badr said: The Muslim Brotherhood is the main reason for the crimes that are taking place against our Sudanese people. They are the reason of spreading terrorism and corruption and are behind the collapse and disintegration of Sudan.

Reem Mansour said: It is the intervention of the Brotherhood to cause chaos and desolation in the country, and to return to the era of terrorism Bashir.

Abeer said: No one can stop this people, neither the Brotherhood nor anyone else, for 30 years of injustice and corruption. They want to return to power, but the people understand everything.

Another tweeted noting that what was happening were the Brotherhood ideas, which did not exist, and which did not form the basis of Bashir’s thinking and the brothers’ terrorism.

Moussa said that the Brotherhood Authors spread rumors to incite hatred and crackdown in Sudan.

Jud Mohammed wrote: The Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist organizations are behind this corruption and terrorism. With the aim of getting back to the regime of Bashir, you are his helpers in evil. All that concerns the Sudan in terms of sabotage, coup and procrastination in transforming the military rule is from the Brotherhood terrorism, which is still wasting in the blood of honorable people …Al-Bashir and his leaders are behind the coup.

The Khartoum state government had earlier accused remnants of the ousted regime of plotting sabotage and mayhem, taking advantage of demonstrations in some parts of the capital against fuel price increases.

In a previous statement, the Forces of Freedom and Change said they are monitoring attempts to strengthen parties and undermine the democratic civil transition by using every stone found by the remnants to bombard the democratic civil transition, work for the return of the old regime and comprehensiveness, and desperate attempts to replace the political incubator of freedom and change with another by the remnants and their partners.

The National Congress Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, was dissolved under the disengagement law and banned from political activity throughout Sudan’s interim rule.
