The supply of weapons to the Houthis continues despite negotiations to resolve the conflict and achieve peace
The Houthi terrorist forces continue to arm themselves from Iran and continue to seek destruction, devastation, and violations in Yemen. Likewise, the negotiating circles sponsored by the United Nations between the warring parties in Yemen, with the participation of Saudi Arabia and Omani mediators, confirmed the arrival of the negotiations in their final stages, and all that remains is to resolve the issue of arms, with which the Houthi forces oppose.
The Yemeni government made its participation in the Munich Security Conference in Germany last week conditional on the need to confine UNIFIL to the state as a condition for signing the final agreement.
Houthi Terrorist Group
At the same time, the Houthi terrorist group threatened to withdraw and thwart all agreements reached on other issues, as if it were seeking to destroy Yemen by drowning weapons in the hands of militias.
The Taiz police chief said in an official statement: A shipment of weapons and ammunition was seized at the Sharjah checkpoint in Jabal Habashi district in a vehicle before it reached the Houthi militias in the western part of the province.
The shipment consisted of 22 weapons and more than 30 munitions, among others.
On 13 February, the Southern forces announced the seizure of a shipment of Kalashnikov-type weapons destined for the Houthi terrorist militia in Tur al Bahah district, northern Lahij governorate, southern Yemen.
The Arab Coalition’s move to ease restrictions on Hodeidah’s port reflects a breakthrough in negotiations with the group via the United Nations, Oman, and the role of U.S. mediator Tim Lenderking.
Houthi Represents Serious Obstacle
Yemeni political analyst Abdulaziz Al Oqab said the Houthi group represents a serious obstacle to the peace process in the country and is the reason that all negotiations and initiatives aimed at reaching a political and security solution to the crisis, which has been worsening for more than 10 years, have failed.
He added that the Houthi group, which is stalling and maneuvering politically in Muscat, to give its militias more time to invade Marib, and it cannot retreat from its fateful battle there, no matter how much it loses, and despite all the huge numbers of its fighters there, because it is betting on the Safer oil and gas fields in Marib to break the continuation of legal procedures represented in the coalition’s inspection of the oil ships arriving to Hodeidah port under their control.
