The UAE’s attractiveness for venture investment is the strongest in the Arab world, ranking 32nd in the world
The UAE maintained its first position in the Arab world and advanced to the 32nd place globally in the “Countries Attractiveness of Venture Capital (Venture) Capital and Private Equity Index” for the year 2021.
In the composite index released by the Business School of the University of Navarra IESE in Spain, the UAE scored 64.8 points, outperforming the Czech Republic, Chile, Mexico and Luxembourg.
The index measures the attractiveness of countries to investors in the venture capital and private equity asset classes, provides the latest aggregated information on the quality of the investment environment, assesses the ease of conducting transactions in 125 countries, and shows progress within them.
In the main drivers that draw the general structure of the index, the UAE ranked 19th globally in terms of investor protection and corporate governance, 23rd globally in terms of the human and social environment, and 26th according to the size of the country’s economic activity.
In the overall ranking, the United States ranked the most attractive countries for investment capital and private equity with a total score of 100 points. The United Kingdom ranked second with a score of 90.3, Japan ranked third with a score of 87.4, and Germany fell to fourth. , Canada fell to fifth place.
