Truce violations – Large-scale military movements of Houthi militia
The Houthi coup militia declared a state of emergency and alert within its ranks, and began to implement a state of defense in anticipation of the start of a sudden military operation in several Yemeni provinces.
Ahmed Ayed, a Yemeni journalist who is on the frontlines in Marib province, said: The Houthi militias have begun extensive preparations for the defense situation, fearing a sudden military operation by the legitimate forces targeting them in several provinces.
In a tweet, he said that the Houthi-led coup militia has doubled the development of trenches south and west of Marib, in different areas of the Hays axis and in locations on the Haradh front west of Hajjah, in addition to providing human reinforcements and materiel to those fronts.
This coincides with the Houthi terrorist militia’s rejection of all international efforts to stop the war in Yemen and to enter into consultations with the Yemeni Presidential Command Council to end the war and achieve peace.
In a related context, the Yemeni army forces announced that they had detected 74 violations of the UN truce by the Houthi militia the day before yesterday on various fronts.
The Yemeni Army Media Center said in a statement posted on Al-Mashhad al-Yemeni website that the Iranian Houthi militia has been violating the UN truce since the first few hours after it was declared on various fronts. The truce also affected civilian objects and gatherings of displaced people.
The new Houthi violations included 31 on the Taiz front line, 16 on the al-Barah axis west of Taiz and Hays south of Hodeida, 13 on the western front of Hajjah, 11 on the south, west and northwest of Marib, and 3 on the front lines east of al-Hazm city in al-Jawf province.
The army also thwarted several infiltration attempts by armed Houthi groups at different times on military sites south of Marib, on the outskirts of Shamir and in areas south of al-Jarrahi in the Hays Axis.
The Houthi militias have stepped up the development of sites and trenches using road-building vehicles to the south and west of Marib, as well as in various areas around Hays and at Haradh front positions west of Hajjah.
The militia continued to push with reinforcements and materiel to the Hodeida, Marib and Haradh fronts, the source said.
The Yemeni government condemned in the strongest terms the continued targeting of civilians by the Houthi-led militia and the violation of the UN truce.
A statement issued by the Yemeni Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights yesterday indicated that Houthi militias on Tuesday fired on civilians in the area of Markhaza in the Qa’atabah district in western Dhale province, according to Saba.
The Houthi militia’s continued firing of bullets and shells at civilian heads and populated areas is a war crime, he said, adding that the militia’s continued endangerment of civilian lives and its failure to abide by the truce undermines prospects for peace in Yemen.
The statement called on the UN envoy and all local and international human rights bodies and organizations to shoulder their responsibilities towards civilians by highlighting these crimes and showing them to local and international public opinion, and by working to hold the killers and those involved in the militias accountable.
