Tunisia appreciates UAE aid in face of health crisis
In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, a plane carrying 500 thousand doses of vaccine against Covid-19 arrived in Tunisia yesterday, which confirms the depth of fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, and the UAE’s constant readiness to help the brothers, and to provide them with full support and support in facing all kinds of challenges, including challenges in the field of health.
In a phone call received from President Kais Saied, HH Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane affirmed, last Sunday, the UAE’s support to the Tunisian people in facing the health and humanitarian conditions that Tunisia is witnessing after the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, asking the Almighty to protect our people in Tunisia from all evil.
For his part, the Tunisian President hailed the strong historical relations between the two countries, noting that the noble initiative of the United Arab Emirates to support Tunisia’s efforts to confront the rapid spread of this pandemic will consolidate the values of solidarity and cooperation between the two brotherly peoples.

This is not the first time the UAE has provided support to Tunisia in the face of the pandemic, but on November 3, the UAE sent aid containing 11 tons of medical supplies and respiratory equipment, benefiting more than 11 thousand health care workers, to strengthen their efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
The UAE ambassador to Tunisia, Rashid Mohamed Al Mansouri, said: “The UAE and Tunisia have shared a common vision of development for several decades, embodied in strong bilateral relations, through the exchange of experiences and coordination in many areas of interest to both countries, ” Al Mansouri said, adding that the leadership’s directives to send doses of COVID-19 vaccines come within the framework of the UAE’s support to the Tunisian people in facing the health conditions that Tunisia is experiencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
UAE aid was well received by the Tunisian media. Political analyst Abu Bakr Al-Saghir said that the UAE’s initiative to provide urgent medical assistance to Tunisia, consisting of 500 thousand doses of vaccine, confirms the commitment of the human and moral values and the spirit of fraternity upon which the Sheikh Zayed School, may God rest his soul.
