Tunisia: Ghannouchi’s abandonment of the Ennahdha movement is a political maneuver ?

After nearly a decade in which the Muslim Brotherhood dominated Tunisia, Ennahdha is currently experiencing unrest and collapse. This reflects the state of failure of the Brotherhood in various Middle Eastern countries, especially after the involvement of many of the movement’s leaders in Tunisia, led by its leader, Rached Ghannouchi, in many crimes.

To reflect the failure

In a new twist to the Muslim Brotherhood, Ennahdha President Rached Ghannouchi announced that he is determined to relinquish the presidency of the movement at the next conference and will not renew his candidacy after the charges against him proved his involvement in many files that support and finance terrorism.

Tunisian political analyst Saghir al-Haidari said Ghannouchi’s announcement that he will not run for the presidency of the Brotherhood’s Ennahdha Society is an affirmation of the great failure of the Brotherhood movement in this period, in addition to the fact that the movement is witnessing a major collapse, due to the failure of its leaders to maintain the movement in the current period.

The Tunisian political analyst added that the movement was involved in many cases of terrorism, violence and financial corruption, which resulted in the setbacks and the great popular anger against this movement, pointing out that what Ghannouchi announced is an elusive attempt to make a new appeal to the Muslim Brotherhood movement.

The End

Tunisian political analyst Bassel Al-Torgoman said that the current period is the worst that has passed for the Muslim Brotherhood’s Ennahdha Movement in Tunisia, especially in light of the huge collapse that the movement is currently experiencing. This has included involvement in acts of violence, terrorism and corruption, as well as major internal defections that revealed the true size of the movement.

The political analyst added in a statements that Ghannouchi’s attempt and his announcement of not running for the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood movement confirms the great schism that the movement is currently witnessing, especially that the movement is witnessing a state of disintegration and major internal disintegration that will lead to a painful end for the group in Tunisia.
