Bloomberg also revealed the existence of a secret deal for Turkish drones to Ukraine, where the number of Bayraktar drones Kiev purchased from Ankara turned out to be much higher than previously reported.
Sources in government agencies in Ankara said: “Since 2019, the Turkish side has sold to the Kiev authorities large numbers of these drones, as well as the missiles and control and guidance stations needed for them”.
Bloomberg added: Ankara will provide Kiev with a new deal for the Bayraktar drones, with more than 20 planes.
In 2021, Ukraine will receive about 15 additional drones, the agency said.
One source told Bloomberg news agency that Ankara and Kiev are planning joint production of missiles similar to Ukraine’s Zenith-2. The source noted that Turkey denies the existence of such intentions.
As of December last year, Kiev had six Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack drones and several hundred high-precision missiles mounted on them.
