UAE announces first package of 50 projects


“The UAE has launched the first of 50 projects to promote economic sustainability and growth in the country, ensuring a safe environment for future generations.”

According to a press conference on Sunday, the 50 Principles document includes the UAE’s path in various economic and development fields over the next five decades.

The plan will focus on identifying the priorities that unite the seven emirates, developing the education environment, maintaining the country’s excellence in many global indicators, and focusing on building an integrated, diversified, non-oil economy.

The plan also includes developing digital excellence in various fields, leading to a fully-intelligent state that is amenable to sovereign projects in the field of digitization, as well as developing industrial and tourism sectors to establish the country as a prime destination for investment and tourism.

Sultan ben Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, said the UAE will allocate 5 billion dirhams to support advanced projects for young people through the Emirates Bank for Development in the next five years.

Al Jaber added: “Today, the state is entering a new phase of progress, prosperity and growth, and excellence in various fields and many sectors. This package of projects will be one of the tools to contribute to the realization of our high aspirations.”

UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al-Marri announced that the country will launch an International Investment Summit early next year to attract 550 billion dirhams in nine years, with a focus on global markets from 13 countries around the world.

Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology, said the UAE would allocate 5 billion dirhams to the transition to the fourth industrial wealth to achieve digital progress in various vital fields.

Thani bin Ahmed al-Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, announced that the UAE will conclude eight economic agreements in the coming period to increase the volume of investments and improve economic relations.

The 50 Principles document, which will form the country’s strategic path over the next 50 years, includes 10 principles that map the emirate’s regional and global progress:

– The main priority will remain the strengthening of the Federation of institutions, legislation, budgets and the development of all aspects of the State.

– Focus on building the world’s best economy.

– The foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates is to serve national objectives and the supreme interests of the economy. The objective of the economy is to provide the best life for the people of the Federation.

– The development of education is the key to maintaining the development of the UAE.

– Good-neighborliness is the foundation of stability and the development of strong relations with the United Arab Emirates.

– To establish the State’s media reputation and our national institutions have a responsibility to unite their efforts.

– Digital, technical and scientific excellence will define our development boundaries.

– The value system in the UAE will remain open and tolerant.

– Our humanitarian assistance is not linked to a religion, race or culture.

-The call for peace, negotiations and dialog to resolve differences is the basis of the foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates to consolidate peace and global stability.
