UAE-Israeli-Indian statement confirms support for the ‘Abraham Accords’


An Emirati-Israeli-Indian statement affirmed, Thursday, its support for the “Abraham Accords” and other peace arrangements with Israel.

According to the White House joint statement on a meeting of the I2U2 group, which includes the UAE, the United States, Israel, and India.

“This unique group of countries aims to harness the vitality of our societies and the spirit of initiative to face some of the biggest challenges facing our world, with a special focus on joint investments and new initiatives in the areas of water, energy, transport, space, health and food security”, the statement said.

He added: “We reaffirm our support for the Abraham Accords and other peace arrangements and the strengthening of relations with Israel. We welcome the economic opportunities that flow from these historic developments, including the strengthening of economic cooperation in the Middle East and South Asia, and in particular to promote sustainable investment among I2U2 partners”.

They also welcomed “other new groups of countries, such as the Negev Regional Cooperation Forum, which recognizes the unique contributions of each partner state, including Israel’s ability to act as a center of innovation linking new and hemispheric partners to strategically address the very significant challenges of any one country”.

Today’s inaugural I2U2 leaders meeting focused on the food security and clean energy crisis and discussed innovative ways to ensure longer-term and more diverse food production and food delivery systems that can better manage global food shocks.

The I2U2 Forum was established in October 2021, at the initiative of the foreign ministers of the four countries.
