UAE-Kazakhstan joint commission looks to strengthen ties


The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hosted the ninth session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee.

The committee’s work was chaired by Suhail Al Mazroui, the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Mokhtar Telobradi, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Mohammed Al Ariqi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kazakhstan, Madiar Minelbeimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, and a number of senior officials in both countries participated in the work of the joint committee and political consultations held at the General Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Abu Dhabi.

The two sides discussed cooperation in the economic and political fields and stressed the importance of opening new channels for joint action in areas of mutual interest, the most prominent of which are trade and economy, digital technology, agriculture, energy, transport, higher education, culture, tourism, labor, mining, infrastructure and investment.

During the consultations, they reviewed joint cooperation and bilateral relations, which marked their 30th anniversary last October, and ways of enhancing them.

The two sides exchanged views on major regional and international issues of common concern.

Suhail Al Mazroui affirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening the distinguished relations between the two countries and praised the high-level mutual visits that took place this year, including the visit of Sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency of the UAE, to Kazakhstan in October 2022, and the visit of Ali Khan Ismailov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, to the UAE in September, during which several legal documents were signed.

Al Mazroui stressed the UAE’s keenness to achieve further cooperation with Kazakhstan, called for follow-up to the Committee’s outputs and opportunities to strengthen cooperation at various levels. He praised the effectiveness of the Joint Committee in promoting cooperation between the public and private sectors in the two friendly countries.

Telobradi praised the strong relations between the two countries and stressed Kazakhstan’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with the UAE in various fields, especially in the fields of renewable energy and transport.

At the conclusion of the committee’s work and the political consultations, the two sides signed a protocol of the joint committee. The two sides affirmed their keenness to continue to consolidate bilateral relations and advance them in the interest of the peoples of the two countries, and reflect the aspirations of their senior leadership. They stressed the importance of continuing the mechanism of coordination, political consultation and exchange of views, which would contribute to supporting common interests and objectives.
