UAE works for the women’s empowerment in Arab world
According to WAM, a top diplomat of the European Union (EU) on the occasion of International Women’s Day said that the United Arab Emirates is at the forefront of women’s empowerment in the Arab world.
The Ambassador of the EU to the UAE, Andrea Matteo Fontana, informed Emirates News Agency (WAM), on Monday that the EU works in coordination with the UAE to strengthen women’s empowerment, their protection and to guarantee gender equality, highlighting that sex equality, equal rights for all women and girls and their empowerment, constitute the EU’s paramount aims.
Despite that the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated that there is a major challenge for gender equality, women’s empowerment and opportunities globally, the envoy indicated that the EU would work to ensure women’s full and effective participation in all spheres of life.
The ambassador also said that at the next Dubai Expo 2020, the European Union with the UAE and other international partners, would holding a session of events about women’s empowerment, with collaboration with the Expo Women pavilion.
