Under Gulf auspices – Analysts consider Yemeni consultations will unify forces and eliminate Tehran’s plans

Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council are working to stabilize the Yemeni state, and through the Yemen-Yemen consultations, held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Saudi Arabia has sought to confront the challenges posed by the Houthi militia in the region.

A platform for the people of Yemen

During the opening speech, GCC Secretary-General Nayef Al-Hajraf said that the Yemeni consultations are a platform for the people of Yemen to diagnose reality, understand its difficulties, explore the future, and take practical steps to move Yemen from war and its horrors to a state of peace. He stressed that there is no solution but what the people of Yemen decide, and there is no future except what the people of Yemen decide.

Al-Hajraf said the consultations are a historic opportunity to build on them and maintain the international community’s interest in Yemen until the war ends and the battle for building and reconstruction begins in the country.

Eliminating Houthi plots

Ahmed Ayed, a Yemeni political analyst, spoke about the Houthis’ absence and evasion of these Yemeni consultations and that they will eliminate their Tehran-backed plans.

On Twitter, the Yemeni political analyst added: The real secret behind the flight of Houthi militias from #Riyadh consultations is their conviction that all political forces and social components in the Republic of Yemen will be in one line and one word, while they cannot even hear the position of the Yemenis, because the word and decision of the militias comes in all discussions from Suburb and Tehran.

Hussein Hanashi, a columnist and editor-in-chief of Yemen’s Al-Marsad newspaper, said the Riyadh consultations were a watershed moment for the Yemeni people.

Joining Yemeni ranks

Shura Council President Dr. Ahmed ben Dagher said the launch of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, held under the auspices of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a major effort to unify Yemen in order to stabilize the country.

In a post on Twitter, Ben Dagher said: The Riyadh consultations are a brotherly attempt from the Gulf, which the Houthis rejected, showing hostility to peace and hatred for Yemen, Yemenis and the region, he said, pointing out that if the consultations do not succeed in achieving lasting and comprehensive peace, they will inevitably succeed in uniting the ranks of the resistance and the confrontation with the Houthis and Iran.

The Shura Council president also directed the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Saudi Arabia to exert great efforts for peace in Yemen.

Cessation of military operations

Saudi efforts in Yemen and the success of the Yemeni consultations will continue. The Alliance to Support Legitimacy in Yemen confirmed that, in response to the call made by the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, military operations inside Yemen have been halted in support of efforts and endeavors in support of reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the Yemeni crisis and achieve security and stability for Yemen. This comes within the context of international initiatives and efforts under the auspices of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Yemen and the Saudi initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution.

The Gulf Co-operation Council sent invitations to about 500 people from various components of Yemeni society without exception to hold Yemeni consultations on Riyadh land.
