US ambassador describe the murder of the Lebanese activist Lokman Slim as a barbaric action
On Thursday, the US envoy to Lebanon makes an infrequent visit to a quarter of Beirut that presented a Hezbollah stronghold to join the memorial service for activist Lokman Slim.
Indeed, Lokman Slim was killed by shooting and found in his car last Thursday in south Lebanon, which was the first murder of a prominent activist in years.
Dorothy Shea related in a speech at the service that was held at the family home in Beirut’s Dahiya quarter: This was a barbaric act, unforgivable and unacceptable.
Lokman Slim directed a research center, produced documentaries with his wife and made efforts to establish an archive on Lebanon’s 1975-1990 sectarian civil war.
