Washington: Designation of Houthi Militia as Foreign Terrorist Organization
The United States has condemned the attacks by Houthi militias on civilian facilities in the United Arab Emirates, noting that the issue of listing terrorist militias is under consideration.
The United States said the missile attacks by Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were a “worrisome escalation.”
“Attacks on the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as recent airstrikes in Yemen that have killed civilians, represent a worrying escalation that only exacerbates the suffering of the Yemeni people,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said, calling on “all parties” to declare a “ceasefire.”
“We are committed to providing capabilities to our allies to defend themselves,” he said, accusing Iran of supporting destabilizing groups including the Houthi militia.
