Wide Advance on All Fronts: Russia Steps Up Offensive in Ukraine

Russia’s Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, declared that the Russian army is making significant gains across multiple fronts in Ukraine.

Speaking to the press, he noted that “the fiercest battles are unfolding in the Krasnoarmeyskaya sector,” where Ukrainian forces are attempting to halt the Russian advance by redeploying their most trained units to the area. According to him, this has left other Ukrainian positions more exposed to Russian offensives.

Gerasimov stated that the “Western” grouping of forces continues its operations in Kupyansk, while Russian troops have achieved successful advances in the Krasno-Limansk direction.

He confirmed that the operation to “take control of Kirovsk” was nearing completion.

Additionally, Russian forces entered the village of Yampol and seized full control of the Serebryanskoye forest, while the “Southern” grouping advanced in the Severisk area and around Konstantinovka.

Russian units also captured the village of Belyshevka, with Ukrainian troops reportedly being encircled south of the Kleban-Byk reservoir.

In the southern regions, Gerasimov said the “Eastern” grouping was strengthening its positions in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia.

He emphasized that the Russian army continues to target logistical hubs and Western-supplied military equipment.

During a field visit to the Krasnoarmeyskaya axis, Gerasimov inspected units of the “Central” grouping and reviewed operational progress. He praised the performance of the naval infantry, describing their role as “decisive in achieving the goals of the special operation.”

These remarks come as fighting escalates ahead of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech is highly anticipated, alongside US efforts to revive a path toward negotiations.

Moscow’s push reflects its attempt to consolidate battlefield gains in order to secure a stronger bargaining position in any potential international talks.
