Yemen – Houthi target Qena oil port in Shabwah
A drone attack targeted Houthi militias on Wednesday at the Qena oil port, located in the Rudum district of Shabwah province, southern Yemen.
A local Yemeni source said that a Houthi militia drone loaded with explosives targeted the port of Qena in Shabwah province on the Arabian Sea while a ship was docking for oil derivatives.
According to the source, the air defenses targeted the booby-trapped plane, which caused it to explode before it reached its target. No human damages were recorded as a result of the attack.
Houthi militias had previously attacked the Handa and Taj Boat Blue Water ships at the port of Rudum in Shabwah on 18 and 19 October but were unable to cause any human or material damage.
The port of Dabba in neighboring Hadramawt province was also attacked by Houthi aircraft with two booby-trapped devices when an oil ship landed, sparking Yemeni, regional, UN and international condemnation as a serious military escalation.
Houthi militias have stepped up threats and attacks against vital and civilian facilities in an effort to thwart the Yemeni government’s efforts to improve the economic climate and normalize conditions in liberated areas.
