Yemen joins Turkey, Syria in earthquake disaster


The Yemeni Presidential Command Council held a closed-door meeting on Sunday under the chairmanship of Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council,

In the presence of all the members of the council, they discussed peace, ending the coup and economic reforms in the country.

During the meeting, the Council expressed its great solidarity and sincere condolences to the Syrian and Turkish peoples after the earthquake that hit different parts of the two brotherly countries on Monday, leaving thousands of victims.

Sultan Ali al-Arada, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli and Faraj al-Bahssani participated in the meeting, which was held in Riyadh via the Department of Video Communication. Aidarous al-Zubaidi, from the UAE, and Tareq Saleh, from Mokha in western Yemen, participated in the meeting.

A source in the Presidency Office told Saba that the meeting discussed local developments, including the course of government reforms and regional and international efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace and end the coup of the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The Presidential Command Council confirmed its continued support for administrative, economic, security and military reforms, harnessing all resources to alleviate human suffering, ensuring the continuation of public services provided to citizens, and fulfilling the state’s obligations, especially with regard to paying salaries to civil servants, the armed and security forces, retirees, as well as diplomatic missions and students studying abroad.

The Presidential Command Council committed itself to a comprehensive and just approach to peace based on locally, regionally and internationally agreed terms of reference, ensuring that the aspirations of all citizens for the restoration of State institutions, security, stability and development are realized.
