Yemen’s Houthi militants launch new attack on UAE
The United Arab Emirates intercepted two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi terrorist militia from Yemen.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said in a statement carried by the official WAM news agency that its air defense intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi terrorist group.
“The attack did not cause any casualties”, the ministry said. The remnants of the intercepted ballistic missiles fell in various areas around the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Houthi claimed responsibility for an attack that targeted Abu Dhabi and resulted in three deaths a week ago, indicating that they used missiles and drones after they repeatedly vowed to strike the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said it is “ready to deal with any threats and takes all necessary measures to protect the state from all attacks”.
The ministry called on the generous public to receive all news from official authorities in the country, away from the false news that media institutions close to Iran and its proxies in the region are trying to promote.
The new attack on the UAE comes a week after the Houthis attacked Abu Dhabi on Monday, killing three people and injuring six others.
On Thursday, the coalition announced a large-scale military operation to cripple the Houthis in several Yemeni provinces after the group targeted sites in Abu Dhabi, including the airport.
