Yemen’s Muslim Brotherhood Erase Traces of Their Crimes… Details
Unknown individuals have vandalized a photo of the late commander, Major General Adnan Al-Hammadi, who was assassinated in Taiz by elements of the Al-Islah Party, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.
This act has sparked widespread anger among Yemenis. Activists claim that the Muslim Brotherhood is wreaking havoc in the city, trying to impose their dominance and sending implicit threats to citizens, signaling that anyone opposing them would face the same fate as Al-Hammadi, according to the Al-Muntasaf Net website.
Activists further stated that this behavior stems from a deep-seated hatred for Commander Al-Hammadi, even after his assassination. His photo serves as a reminder of their heinous crime, which motivated them to tear it down.
They concluded: “There is widespread outrage among the locals after this attack on one of the city’s iconic figures. They are calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable and for investigations to uncover the identities of the armed individuals.”
A report published in December 2019 by the English-language website Middle East Eye noted that the assassination of Brigadier General Adnan Al-Hammadi in Taiz occurred just days after Khaled Fadel, a former militia leader of the Al-Islah Party, resumed his role overseeing all military brigades in Taiz, including the 35th Armored Brigade, under a presidential decree.
It is worth mentioning that supporters of the Al-Islah Party accused Al-Hammadi of aligning with figures opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood. They allegedly sought to remove him from the scene to settle scores with their adversaries in the city.
