117 Houthi violations in 6 Yemeni provinces – Details

The Yemeni army announced on Saturday 117 violations of the UN truce by Houthi militias in one day and in six provinces.

In a statement issued by the Yemeni army, it said that the Iranian-backed Houthi militias committed 117 breaches of the UN truce on Friday on various fronts.

The Houthis committed 52 violations on the western coast of Yemen, 34 on the fronts of the Taiz axis, 19 on the fronts of Hajjah province, 10 on the southern, western and northwestern fronts of Marib, and two on the Dhale axis, the statement said.

It said the Houthis used Katyusha rockets, heavy artillery, various caliber bullets, explosive-laden drones and snipers.

According to the statement, Houthi militias violated the agreement, killing four soldiers and wounding five others on various fronts.

The Yemeni army recorded 288 violations in the past three days, and the internationally recognized government says Houthi violations are negative signs that do not encourage the continuation of the truce, which was extended by two more months on June 2.

The Houthis are racing to exploit the humanitarian truce to mobilize fighters, organize their military ranks, and modernize their arsenal by evading a new round of war, according to Yemeni experts.
