155 Killed in Tanzania Due to Heavy Rains
155 people have been killed in Tanzania due to heavy rains linked to the climatic phenomenon El Niño, which have caused floods and landslides, according to Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, this Thursday.
Quoted by the “France Presse” agency, Majaliwa stated during a parliamentary session that the heavy rains associated with El Niño have caused “severe damage” in various regions of the country, affecting over 51,000 families and 200,000 people.
Around 236 people have been injured, and over 10,000 houses have been damaged by the floods.
