Yemen – Houthis militia are trying to block calls for peace

With the Russia-Ukraine global crisis also affecting Yemen recently, the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia is adding to the suffering of the Yemeni people, who are witnessing the worst humanitarian catastrophe.

Among the many Yemeni governorates under Houthi control, Al-Bayda province is suffering greatly. Yemeni sources revealed that terrorist militias have been imposing a huge siege on residents in the districts of Numan and Natia, located in east Al-Bayda, for more than two months.

The sources said that the Houthi militias are preventing the delivery of food and humanitarian supplies to the residents of the two districts of Al-Bayda, as the Houthis are trying to tighten the noose on them and impose their control after the military operation carried out by the southern Giants’ brigades.

The Giants’ Brigades managed to liberate the center of Numan District and many parts of Natta District from the grip of Houthi militias in Iran; after liberating the three districts of Baihan in Shabwah in early January, in a large-scale military operation.

The sources noted the danger of running out of food and medicine supplies for the province’s residents, and the inability of citizens and patients to reach hospitals and move to other directorates and the center of the province.

This revelation comes in the wake of Houthi attempts to sabotage any efforts to calm the situation in Yemen to end the war, following consultations announced by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) between the Yemeni parties, as the Houthi terrorist militia escalated its terrorist operations, using ballistic missiles, marches and cruise missiles targeting Saudi sovereignty, according to the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen.

In a statement, the Arab coalition said it intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi terrorist militia in the direction of Jizan, a few hours after coalition forces managed to intercept and destroy five drones that were fired at southern Saudi Arabia.

Yesterday, the Arab Parliament welcomed the decision of the Council of the European Union to amend the EU Regulation to blacklist the Houthi terrorist militia as a sanctioned group under UN Security Council Resolution 2624, which all UN member states are required to implement under the organization’s charter, which for the first time designated the Houthi militia as a terrorist group.
