Tips for taking amazing photos underwater

Choose the right frame

For your aquatic shots to look heavenly, it is better to bet on clear and limpid waters! A very deep lake, a rough and troubled sea…: abstain! To obtain a satisfactory result, try to find small coves or corners preserved from strong currents, in which you will benefit from better visibility. The decor is also of particular importance. If you are lucky enough to be able to approach some of the locals, that’s even better! What is complicated when trying to photograph a world in perpetual motion is to capture the moment T. If patience is an essential quality for this particular practice of photography, nothing prevents you from adding a small dose of technology. Take care of the light

Water naturally filters the sun’s rays. To make the most of sufficient light to capture beautiful moments, it is rather advisable to indulge in the practice of underwater photography at midday. This is when the sun’s rays will enter the water perpendicularly and sink deeper into it. If you can’t meet this timing, you can test your flash. Unfortunately, many digital cameras do not have a flash powerful enough to illuminate a scene optimally. In this case, the best thing is still to get as close as possible to your subject… You will then have the possibility of carrying out a few small “post-production” touch-ups to increase the contrasts, revive the colors or bring more luminosity.
