UAE condemns Denmark shooting: ‘We reject violence’
The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the shooting incident at a shopping mall in Copenhagen, Denmark, which resulted in the death of a number of innocent people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stressed that the United Arab Emirates expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence aimed at destabilizing security and stability and contrary to humanitarian values and principles.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the Government and friendly people of Denmark, as well as to the families and relatives of the victims of this heinous crime, wishing the injured speedy recovery.
Earlier, Danish police said that three people were killed by the shooting that took place on Sunday inside a shopping center in Copenhagen, and that many others were injured including three in critical condition.
Surin Thomasen, the chief inspector of the Copenhagen police, said at a press conference that the suspect, who was arrested after the shooting, was known by the police “but only marginally”.
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen condemned the shooting at a shopping mall in Copenhagen as a “horrific attack”.
She called on citizens to support each other.
