Rocket Launches Carrying American Lander to the Moon
An American rocket carrying a lunar lander took off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Thursday.
This marks the second attempt of its kind by a private entity this year after the first one failed.
Intuitive Machines, based in Houston, is behind this mission dubbed “IM-1” (“IM-1”), hoping to become the first non-governmental entity to successfully send a vehicle to the moon and land the first American robot on its surface since the Apollo missions over five decades ago.
