Princess Anne Suffers Accident and Sustains Concussion
Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III, was taken to a hospital in Bristol after an accident at her home left her in need of urgent medical care.
Princess Anne, who is 73 years old, is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, born on August 15, 1950, in London.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that Princess Anne, who is 17th in line to the throne, is under precautionary observation in the hospital without detailing the accident.
The palace statement read, “Princess Anne sustained minor injuries and a concussion following an accident in her garden last evening.”
It added, “Her Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital in Bristol as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.”
“King Charles is aware of her condition and has joined the royal family in sending his best wishes for a speedy recovery to the Princess.”
British media sources reported that the accident might have been caused by a horse-related incident in the garden of the home where the Princess has resided since 1976.
