Croatian media reported that an armed man killed 5 people in a nursing home in Daruvar, east of Zagreb.

Health Minister Vili Beroš announced on the “N1” television channel that five other people were injured in the attack and taken to hospitals.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković expressed his shock over the incident on the “X” platform, saying: “We are shocked by the killing of five people in a nursing home in Daruvar.”

Croatian media reported that the killer, a veteran born in 1973, entered the nursing home and began shooting. Reports said he killed his mother and four others.

Media reports also mentioned that the killer initially fled the scene, but police later arrested him.
