Drone Attack near Tel Aviv and Israeli Attempts to Intercept It

Areas near Tel Aviv were attacked by drones on Thursday morning, with Israeli defense systems attempting to intercept them.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which coincides with intense Israeli airstrikes on Beirut and its southern suburbs.

Israeli media reports quoted residents as saying they heard explosions in Tel Aviv and nearby areas, caused by attempts to intercept the drone attack.

The Israeli army announced that “the air force intercepted a suspicious aerial target in the maritime zone, off the coast of Gush Dan.”

Later, the army stated that it had “spotted two drones and intercepted a third one in the maritime area off the coast of Gush Dan, and observed the crash of one drone in an open area.”

Gush Dan is a large area in Israel, encompassing Tel Aviv, the central region, and a small part of the southern region.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that warning sirens sounded in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.

In a related context, Israeli media reported the activation of alarms due to concerns about drone infiltrations into the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
