Israel Threatens Hezbollah Leaders: Defeating the Party with the Weapon of “Chaos”

In recent weeks, Israel has ramped up its targeting of Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon and Syria.

According to the Israeli newspaper Maariv, “In recent weeks, the Air Force, in collaboration with the Intelligence Directorate, Mossad, and Shin Bet, has been intensively engaged in pursuing Hezbollah officials.”

The report states: “This activity is highly complex, involving fighter jets, offensive drones, and intelligence-gathering drones operating around the clock for several days.”

Meanwhile, intelligence agencies – military, Mossad, and Shin Bet – are gathering information on targets within Hezbollah‘s leadership. Israel has declared the entire Hezbollah leadership as its target.

Israel’s stated goal is to create chaos within the organization’s leadership and undermine its ability to function.

The attacks, which target senior officials in Beirut, Damascus, and other regions of Lebanon, follow recent actions aimed at weakening Hezbollah’s economic systems, including disrupting fuel supplies and payments to operatives and their families.

Regarding the killing of Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah’s media relations chief, an Israeli security source told Maariv: “His death is significant. It deals a moral blow to Hezbollah members in Lebanon and undermines the organization’s ability to interact with the Lebanese public and its own members. He was a key figure in propaganda and communication.”

Escalation of Operations

Other targets include operational leaders, particularly within Hezbollah’s “southern front.”

The Israeli army stated: “Artillery forces from the 282nd Brigade conducted cross-border operations, expanding the range of bombardments to support ground forces.”

Since the beginning of the ground maneuvers, thousands of targets, including weapons depots and Hezbollah infrastructure, have been destroyed, and hundreds of fighters have been eliminated.

Airstrikes have also targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold in southern Beirut. These attacks have hit military infrastructure, weapons depots, and headquarters.

Target: Hassan Nasrallah’s Home

Among the sites destroyed was a house formerly occupied by Hassan Nasrallah, rebuilt after the 2006 Lebanon War and used as infrastructure by Hezbollah before its destruction.

Drone Interceptions

Additionally, the Israeli army announced the interception of five drones launched from Lebanon and the east (likely Iraq).

Amos Hochstein’s Return

According to the Israeli website Ynet, U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein is expected to return to the region on Tuesday for meetings in Beirut regarding a ceasefire proposal between Israel and Lebanon.

If successful, Hochstein could also visit Israel.

The U.S. plan includes Hezbollah’s withdrawal north of the Litani River, the deployment of the Lebanese army in the south, preventing arms smuggling from Syria, and guarantees allowing Israel to act if the agreement’s terms are violated.
