In an article published on Sudanile, Abu Ahmed wrote that “media during the era of the Islamist movement was not a tool for conveying information, but rather an instrument of misinformation and a platform for enforcing obedience.” He pointed out that the regime domesticated print newspapers, monopolized broadcasting, and stripped national issues of their substance in favor of propaganda and ideological dominance.
He explained that websites such as Al-Rakoba and Sudanile became counter-platforms, initially serving as intellectual forums before evolving into tools for investigative journalism and resistance documentation.
