ALQST organization attacks Saudi Arabia for stirring up strife
ALQST Organization continues its suspect role in attacking Saudi Arabia
ALQST is one of the organizations that specializes in attacking Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries under the guise of defending human rights, trying to bully the world against them, and sowing discord.
As part of its efforts to incite strife and its attempts to mislead international public opinion, the organization used to issue false and fabricated annual reports, occasionally alleging violations of the rights of Saudis in Riyadh, to the extent that it attacked the Kingdom and sided with Canada in the well-known crisis between the two countries years ago.
“In an attempt to antagonize the world against Saudi Arabia, ALQST has publicly called for more international pressure on Riyadh, and has threatened the kingdom’s princes with governmental decisions of repression.”
Organization establishment
Founded in August 2014, it has since been based in London under the heading Human Rights Organizations, claiming that it will promote human rights in Saudi Arabia. It includes a number of individuals with big question marks around them, chief among them its founder and director, dissident Saudi officer Yahya Assiri, who is allied with the Brotherhood.
Apart from its stated goal, the majority of the organization’s positions appeared to revolve around issues raised by the International Brotherhood Organization, which is also headquartered in London. It also dealt with individual issues, with the aim of disrupting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as the case of Salman Al-awdah, the case of the Brothers Jamal Khashoggi, Noha Al-Balawi and Loujain Al-Hathloul.
Established to attack Saudi Arabia, the organization has enjoyed the support of the Muslim Brotherhood and its funding countries, especially Qatar and Turkey. It participates periodically in the meetings of the United Nations Human Rights Council and holds public events, including the annual conference, in which a number of Saudi experts met to discuss various topics related to Saudi Arabia.
It continues its attempts to discredit the Saudi Arabia with relentless social media campaigns using visual materials and occasional protests.
Yahya Assiri
The organization’s most prominent member and founder is dissident Saudi officer Yahya Assiri, who heads its monitoring and documentation department and is a member of its board of trustees.
“Al-Assiri was a Saudi Royal Air Force officer who studied in the UK in 2009 on a mission with the Air Force, but there he started taking part in some demonstrations.”
Codified polarization
“To serve its agenda, the organization began to attract certain people to try to spread lies and rumors about their countries, among them Alaa Al-Siddiq, who was the CEO of ALQST and based in London.”
Alaa Al-Siddiq submitted her resignation to the ALQST Organization and refused to continue working with them. Two days after she decided to return to her homeland, the United Arab Emirates, she suffered a traffic accident and died as a result, which raised questions about the foundation and its possible role in the accident.
“The foundation also includes Safa al-Ahmed, the organization’s new director, who chaired the organization as director in October 2020, and Omaima al-Najjar, the organization’s campaign manager, a Saudi human rights activist, blogger, nurse and doctor.”
“In addition to these, there are foreigners such as Joshua Cooper, who served as deputy executive director of ACS, Julia Lesser, the ACS’s director of support based in Germany, and Abdullah al-Jarawi, the organization’s director of communication.”
The Qatari Al-Jazeera channel sought to present the founder of ALQST organization, dissident Yahya Assiri, in the media to attack Saudi Arabia, under the name of a Saudi human rights activist, before the establishment of the organization and during its announcement.
Many questions revolve around the source of funding for the ALQST organization. Some sources confirmed that the organization receives funding from the Brotherhood, in addition to funds from the Iranian regime to attack the kingdom and defend terrorists, including those wanted in Al-Awamia.
