A Belgian Man Held His Funeral Before His Death… And the Reason is Shocking”
A Belgian man organized a shocking prank for his large family members by spreading the false news of his death. He wanted to find out who would attend his funeral and who would genuinely be affected, especially since he complained about the lack of communication with his relatives.
According to the Daily Mail, David Berton, a 45-year-old content creator on TikTok, collaborated with his wife and children to promote the false news of his death.
His daughter went as far as posting fake mourning messages on social media, expressing her grief over the loss of her father and the sadness of his early demise.
David stated that he wanted to know who would care about his death, especially since a significant number of his family members did not value communication and rarely met with him. When the funeral took place near the city of Liège in Belgium, the attendees, who were deeply moved, were surprised to see David arriving at the venue in a helicopter, and they embraced him.
The shocking prank sparked a wide debate on social media, with some welcoming the idea as a way to draw attention, while others criticized turning a tragedy into a prank for entertainment.
The person who faked his death stated that the fake funeral was a lesson because he later learned that half of his family did not attend and did not care.
Nevertheless, David admitted that he had somewhat succeeded because some of those who failed to attend promptly contacted him and requested a meeting after a long period of estrangement.
