A Major Strike Force: More Than a Dozen U.S. Warships Participate in the War on Iran

Sources within the U.S. Navy have revealed an unprecedented naval deployment in support of the ongoing military operations against Iran.

A U.S. military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that more than a dozen American warships are currently stationed in the region, a buildup that reflects the scale of the ongoing military escalation.

The official told The Washington Post that the destroyers “USS Michael Murphy” and “USS Mitscher,” along with the littoral combat ships “USS Canberra” and “USS Santa Barbara,” have been positioned near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime routes for energy transport.

In the Arabian Sea, Washington has significantly reinforced its military presence by deploying the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln,” escorted by seven guided-missile destroyers: “USS Frank E. Petersen Jr.,” “USS Spruance,” “USS Delbert Black,” “USS John Finn,” “USS McFaul,” “USS Milius,” and “USS Pinckney.” The littoral combat ship “USS Tulsa” is also operating in the Arabian Sea, according to the same source.

In a notable development underscoring the expanding scope of the operation, the massive aircraft carrier “USS Gerald R. Ford” has joined the theater after sailing from the Caribbean region, signaling the breadth of the military mobilization led by Washington against Iran.

For its part, the Israeli military stated that the joint attack with the United States would constitute a “powerful blow” to Iran, describing the operation as “large-scale.”

Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said in a recorded statement: “The initial strikes targeted numerous sites belonging to the terrorist regime, including military infrastructure, surface-to-surface missiles, and command and control centers.” She added that “the operation will continue for as long as necessary.”
