Al-Halbousi explains why Iraq is facing severe challenges
The speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohamed Al-Halbousi, confirmed that the daunting challenges facing the country are the result of errors.
Al-Halbousi said in his New Year’s speech on Thursday: “At this glorious moment, I congratulate and bless the sons of our dear Iraqi people, especially Christians on Christmas and New Year’s Day. I hope that the New Year will be stable. One year, I hope everyone can enjoy peace, security and comfort.”
He added: “Our world has experienced a difficult year. The new type of corona virus threatens the lives of billions of people, has changed their way of life, changed their lives, and caused tremendous psychological and spiritual effects on the economic sector, and the loss of life and relatives and friends before this, to express condolences and patience. All those who have lost their loved ones, “sympathy and satisfaction are their souls.”
He continued: “We are entering the new year. We pray to God to avoid what happened in the past, and we are working hard to eliminate the situation of the past year. Iraqis have expressed their democratic choice through this year’s parliamentary elections. We are of the people lead a decent life and a safe and secure life.”
He emphasized: “The task of facing a difficult environment is a collective responsibility, which is the complement and interdependence of all community activities. Through a free, democratic and conscious process of selecting representatives, people may be the main pillar of the project’s success. He emphasized: “The daunting challenges we face today are caused by accumulated mistakes. Let us see this year as a year of reform at all levels.” Democracy can succeed by providing citizens with real opportunities for change, and Congress will complete its support. He concluded: “I hope you will spend a year full of joy and happiness, during which we overcome crises and achieve stability and social justice. During this year, the displaced will return to their regions and the reconstruction start in all regions of Iraq and may be a year of reform and progress.”
