Al-Sissi and Moustafa al-Kazimi speak by telephone… Afghanistan leads the way


Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi held a telephone conversation on relations between the two countries and regional issues.

According to a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, Al-Sissi received a phone call from Al-Kazimi, where he discussed developments in a number of regional issues of mutual interest, especially the latest developments in Afghanistan, in addition to a number of issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed his country’s appreciation of Egyptian efforts in support of Iraqi affairs at all levels, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation frameworks with Egypt, especially with regard to facing common challenges, foremost of which is combatting terrorism and achieving security, stability and development.

For his part; al-Sissi reiterated Egypt’s support for any effort that would strengthen Iraq’s security and stability, and for Kazimi’s efforts to strengthen the role of Iraqi state institutions and preserve Iraq’s sovereignty and Arabism.

He said Egypt will continue to work on strengthening cooperation frameworks with Iraq in various fields, both bilaterally and within the framework of tripartite cooperation between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
