Ankara: We will maintain our position on the Ukrainian crisis
Ankara reiterated its keenness to maintain its balanced position towards the Russian-Ukrainian war.
This came from Ibrahim Kalin, the spokesman of the Turkish presidency, in a tweet which he published on Wednesday on his Twitter account.
“Turkey will maintain its balanced position for the sake of peace, stability, security and justice for the Russia-Ukraine war”, kalin said in a tweet.
“The Ukrainian crisis continues and deepens”, the spokesman said. “Mutual mistakes, the search for a new balance of power and short-term interests will cause significant strategic losses in the medium and long term and humanitarian tragedies”.
He added: “We have entered a phase of cold war, the effects of which will continue for decades”.
“New balances will be formed in all areas, from food security and energy to geopolitical dynamics and regional alliances”, he said.
He added: “At this critical juncture, Turkey will maintain its balanced position for peace, stability, security and justice and will continue its multifaceted initiatives”.
Turkey, which enjoys good relations with Russia and Ukraine, is weighing in to resolve the Moscow-Kiev crisis and reach a ceasefire agreement.
Ankara entered early on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis line and is engaged in diplomatic efforts to defuse the war that began on February 24.
