Arrest of the ‘most dangerous child’ in France

French police have arrested a 13-year-old boy believed to be responsible for sending hundreds of bomb threats that have kept France on edge since the fall.

An investigation has been opened to determine the teenager’s connection to a series of at least 380 false bomb threats, according to the public prosecutor’s office in Rennes and Le Parisien newspaper.

The newspaper added that the boy is suspected of making bomb threats across France, especially against airports, courts, and universities.

The office stated that the boy confessed to doing it for “fun” without any political or religious motive.

Quest-France newspaper wrote that the 13-year-old student, who is currently detained, suffers from a personality disorder and has already received educational management for one year.

Initially, the police detained the entire family of the boy, but they were later released.

A wave of false bomb threats during the past fall caused serious problems in France, without authorities being able to categorize the threats.

These threats began following a deadly attack in October last year carried out by a young man on a teacher in northern France.

No specific threat or political background has been identified, and in many cases, the perpetrators were described as young.

The threats paralyzed airports for consecutive days at times, and the Palace of Versailles, a tourist attraction, was frequently affected.
