Two students were injured on Tuesday in a primary school after being attacked by a classmate with a knife, just one day after the school year started in Domažlice, Czechia, near the German border, the police reported.

Regional governor Rudolf Špoták stated at a press conference that the two injured students were able to return home after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

The police announced on the platform “X” that “a student attacked her classmates with a knife. Two children were injured, and their parents were informed,” noting that the attacker was detained “within minutes.”
The city’s deputy mayor, Viktor Krutina, said at the press conference that “thanks to the quick reaction of a teacher and a supervisor, no other individuals in the school were attacked.”
Emergency services contacted did not wish to disclose the condition of the two injured students.
