Bassel Youssef Renews His Hostility towards the Muslim Brotherhood… Details
The Muslim Brotherhood widely circulates videos of Egyptian TV host Bassel Youssef on social media platforms, where he criticizes the stance of US President Joe Biden’s administration on Gaza, supports Palestinians, or criticizes the Egyptian regime. However, this hasn’t halted the attacks launched by the host against the group.
Two days ago, Youssef posted a video on his official YouTube page titled “The Ethics of the Muslim Brotherhood,” where he talks about the terrorism of the group’s members and their constant resort to violence and threats, recalling numerous statements made by leaders and members of the Muslim Brotherhood during the June 2013 revolution, which ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
Youssef sarcastically criticized the Brotherhood’s statements regarding their ability and strength on the Egyptian streets, their capability to set the country ablaze, and to control the streets with the assistance of other extremist Islamist groups, and their resort to violence, murder, torture, and beatings against anyone opposing them, to serve the guidance bureau.
Many activists praised the video, seeing it as a means to remind the Egyptian people of the disasters that would have occurred in the country had the Muslim Brotherhood taken control of the legislative and executive powers.
They added that the Muslim Brotherhood widely disseminates Youssef’s videos, forgetting his previous programs and criticisms of the Brotherhood and the late Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi.
Islamists’ interest in Bassel Youssef and his ideas began with the start of the war in the sector, following the attack launched by Hamas on October 7 last year against towns and villages in the Gaza Strip, and they boast about his remarks in an interview with British presenter Piers Morgan, as well as the widespread dissemination of the news that Youssef was exempted from appearing in the movie “Superman” due to his support for Palestine.
