Bear Ends Girl’s Hike in Terrifying Way

A girl in Romania met a tragic fate in a park when she lost her life dramatically at the hands of a rabid bear.

The Romanian police received an emergency call from the girl, who was screaming in terror and pleading to know what to do as the bear chased her before the connection was cut off.

According to reports, the bear managed to grab the girl before throwing her off a 400-foot cliff.

According to the “Daily Mail,” the bear chased the 19-year-old teenager Maria Diana in front of her boyfriend’s eyes.

Maria was hiking in the Bucegi Mountains in central Romania with her boyfriend on Tuesday when they were attacked by the bear.

The victim’s boyfriend said that the bear grabbed his girlfriend’s leg and dragged her off the path before throwing her down the cliff. Local officials revealed that the terrified Maria managed to call emergency services while she was being chased.

Dan Banu, head of the local mountain rescue service, told local media: “She was terrified… She was screaming: ‘The bear is getting closer and closer!'”

He added that the boyfriend could be heard screaming that the bear had grabbed the girl by the leg and taken her, noting that the boyfriend did not know what the bear had done to her.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, they found the bear circling the body. It tried to attack them before they shot it dead.

The girl’s boyfriend said that he and Maria were climbing toward the Spumoasa waterfall when the bear suddenly appeared on the path.

The rescuers found Maria’s boyfriend in a state of shock.

Carmen Strungaru, a specialist in wild animal behavior, told local media: “It seems that the idea that the bear dragged its victim to the cliff is just a guess.” It is more likely that the frightened girl tried to escape and fell into the cliff with the bear.
