Coalition foils imminent Houthi attack on Red Sea oil tankers
The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Wednesday the destruction of two Houthi boats and the foiling of an imminent hostile attack south of the Red Sea.
The coalition said in a statement that preparations for the attack by two boats in the southern Red Sea were made to attack giant oil tankers that crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The attempt to launch the two boats bombs was made in Yemen’s Hodeidah province, it said.
He noted that the Houthi militias are escalating their hostile attacks targeting energy sources and the world economy.
On Tuesday, the coalition announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile fired by Houthi militias towards Jizan.
The Arab Coalition said that the escalation of serious violations by the Houthi militias was intended to foil the Yemeni consultations.
Two days earlier, the coalition announced the destruction of a Hodeidah boat, thwarting an imminent attack targeting shipping.
The Arab Alliance said in a statement that its efforts have helped protect shipping lanes and global trade.
Earlier, the coalition revealed that it had destroyed a total of 106 boat bombs, posing a threat to freedom of navigation in the southern Red Sea.
The Houthi terrorist militia has repeatedly rejected peace efforts and initiatives, either through direct response or through escalation.
This time, the Houthi escalation in terrorism followed consultations announced by the Gulf Cooperation Council between the Yemeni parties in an attempt to find a peace map and end the war in Yemen.
