Compassion for Gaza: The UAE provides 550 tons of relief materials in the second week
The active participation of citizens and residents in the United Arab Emirates continues within the ‘Compassion for Gaza’ campaign.
The campaign embodies the strong values of the UAE society and its humanitarian solidarity with the affected people of the Palestinian territory in Gaza, supporting official efforts in this regard. 10,100 volunteers participated in the campaign, contributing to the preparation of 25,000 relief packages over the past two days through events held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, collecting more than 550 tons of relief materials.
Additionally, 120 tons were sent to the city of El Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt in collaboration with the World Food Programme to be delivered to Gaza, including food and supplies for children and mothers.
The campaign is overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Authority, the World Food Programme, and in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development, involving the participation of 20 charitable and humanitarian organizations, as well as national volunteer platforms.
The campaign is an extension of the UAE‘s journey of goodwill and generosity, aimed at mitigating the humanitarian consequences of disasters and crises, alleviating their impact on the affected, based on the UAE‘s approach built on principles of humanitarian solidarity and its ongoing efforts to support and assist our Palestinian brothers and alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis they face, especially the most vulnerable groups such as children and women.
