Coronavirus in France: the current epidemic wave is ending. How?
Recently, there were 23,605 new cases in France, far from the more than 150,000 daily infections seen at the peak of the wave in July.
The current wave of the Coronavirus, which had started at the beginning of June, has continued to decline in recent days in metropolitan France, neither contamination nor hospitalizations being considered at a high level, announced this Friday the public health agency.
From 8 to 14 August, “the decrease in the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 continued with an improvement in epidemiological indicators in all metropolitan areas”, summarized in a press release Santé publique France, on the occasion of its weekly review, quoted BFMTV.
As for the overseas territories, the situation is also improving except in Réunion, where the epidemic continues to increase.
For the first time in several weeks, Santé publique France did not consider that contamination and hospitalizations remained at a “high” level.
This is the end of the current wave, which started in early June and led to a peak in hospitalization at the end of July, albeit at a lower level than the previous two waves, at the beginning of the year and in the spring.
